A Cleaner Carpets & Surfaces professional will come to your home or office and inspect your hard surface to determine the best possible cleaning solution for your flooring and counter tops. Our friendly, professional cleaning technician will then spray a powerful cleaning solution onto the surface to break up the ugly looking dirt and stains ground into the hard surface & grout. Cleaner Carpets & Surfaces will then thoroughly steam clean the area using up to 1500 P.S.I. of high temperature water. When cleaning up stains and messes on stone or other hard surfaces, it’s important to use cleaners specifically formulated for that type of hard surface. Most general purpose cleaners, both acidic and alkaline solutions, abrasives, ammonia and bleach can break down hard surface sealers and damage your marble, stone, travertine, ceramic tile, slate, linoleum and other hard surfaces. Are You Protected?
|
| People often assume that natural stone surfaces like marble, slate and travertine are “stain-proof.” However, all stone is porous to some degree. If not properly treated with a protective sealer, water, oils, and other liquids can easily penetrate your stone flooring and countertops, leaving behind unsightly stains and permanent damage to the stone. New hard surfaces including marble, travertine, slate and stone should always be sealed with a penetrating sealer to not only protect from stains but also help prevent cracks and chips from forming. The good news is that once Cleaner Carpets & Surfaces treats your stone surfaces with our protective sealant, your newly finished stone is ready for everyday use! Some surfaces such as marble should be sealed once a year to shield the surface from damage. Our team of hard surface cleaning and sealing professionals can answer all of your hard surface questions and give you the peace of mind that your beautiful flooring and counter tops are being cared for the best way possible. Polished Marble
Marble tile is a natural material that is millions of years old. Marble is used for magnificent tile floors, kitchen countertops, marble bathroom vanities, tile floors, marble wall tile and even columns. It is very important to use products specifically designed to clean marble. Cleaner Carpets & Surfaces has the best marble cleaners, marble sealers and marble polish available.
Cleaner Carpets & Surfaces has a complete line of products for marble floor tile, marble countertops and even marble vanities and shower walls. Marble is a material that is formed when limestone, softened from heat and pressure, is recrystallized into a solid where mineral changes occurred. Marble is usually very sensitive to the wrong cleaning products.
Properties of Natural Marble
Marble is known as a calcium carbonate stone. This means that marble reacts to acids but it can also have a natural high-gloss appearance that scratches easily. For cleaning and restoration purposes, the most suitable method for marble surfaces should be chosen according to the level of wear. The Cleaner Carpets & Surfaces technique entails of removing the dirt, erasing stains and restoring the worn protective layer.
Slate
Slate is a "rough" material with a low absorption. Slate can be found both an interiors and exteriors, and rarely has a high polish unless a coating is placed on it. Slate can be difficult because of its high content of clay, especially in wet areas, and can develop efflorescence easily. Our slate sealer can protect the stone and generate more durability.
Terrazo
The appearance of the terrazzo is more uniform than most natural stone, and is available in tile forms or by pouring application on the slab. Terrazzo is a mixture of Portland cement and marble chips. These marble chips can range in size from a fraction of an inch to as large to several inches. Terrazzo can be honed and polished just like marble and can even be mistaken for granite.
Granite
Granite is an extremely hard natural stone with low porosity, normally given a polished finish. Granite is formed by volcanic action, and is acid and scratch resistant. It is still very important to protect your countertop from acids like vinegar. Waterproofing granite is often recommended, especially if is laid in places such kitchens or bathrooms. You should clean your granite countertops regularly; however, every two years you should reseal your granite countertop as well.
Travertine
Travertine is essentially limestone that has been formed in hot springs. Water movement caused the erosion of the stone creating numerous holes of varying sizes. Travertine is porous and has holes that are filled to give it a consistent, smooth surface to make it, "honed," travertine. In fact, travertine, marble and limestone are so similar in composition, chemical and physical characteristics that cleaning procedures and maintenance requirements are essentially the same for all three types of stone. Unlike ceramic tile and porcelain, travertine must be sealed and, depending on foot traffic, travertine will need to be re-sealed every one to two years.
Flagstone
Flagstone is the term given to almost all-stone material cut into thin, irregular shapes. Found extensively on sidewalks, foyer entrance, pool decks, etc..., flagstone can be almost any material but is commonly the SANDSTONE type. Flagstone should not be ground and should only be cleaned and sealed.
